About Butikofer Electric, LLC
After searching for a job that really used my talents and stretched my knowledge, I found the right one as an Electrician. I have to start as an apprentice. Working for a respected business in the area, I was sent to Generac Generator Service Training. While there I performed services up to and including diagnostic, oil changes, major tune-up and major part replacements. In the four years since being trained, I have seen a variety of issues. Now, not being with that business, I can charge a reasonable price and perform the service. I'm still in an apprenticeship program but started over with a new group and haven't regretted it since. I'm learning skills and knowledge which will help Butikofer Electric, LLC to provide even better products and services to you at reasonable prices. The new group requires that I give them priority so my hours are limited as to what I can do at this time. Below is a list of some of the services provided. Prices are subject to change but notification will be given prior to service. This will give you an idea of what is minimum. In many instances travel fee is a separate change and will adjust the fee to above the minimum. You will be given a choice of recommended service. You don't have to do what is recommended but it could affect the performance of your generator.

Generac Warranty Work
Usually free given distance for travel
Covered under Generac warranty. Separate fee applies if travel is over 50 miles from Idaho Falls.
Service A Air Cooled
Various based on distance traveled
Clean interior of the generator. Check for gas leaks. Check gas pressure. Check electrical connections. Check oil level and top off. Check air filter. Clean battery terminals and cables, apply anti-corrosion. Check battery. Test run the generator to check voltages produced.
Service B Air Cooled
Various based on distance traveled
Clean interior of the generator. Change oil and oil filter. Check for gas leaks. Check gas pressure. Check electrical connections. Check air filter. Clean battery terminals and cables, apply anti-corrosion. Check battery. Test run the generator to check voltages produced.
Service C Air Cooled
Various based on distance traveled
Clean interior of the generator. Change oil and oil filter. Check for gas leaks. Check gas pressure. Check electrical connections. Change air filter. Change spark plugs. Adjust valves to factory specs. Clean battery terminals and cables, apply anti-corrosion. Check battery. Test run the generator to check voltages produced.
Travel Fee
$65+ depending on distance traveled
This fee depends on travel required to travel.
Air Cooled Diagnostic
$150+
Include travel fee to Diagnostic Fee for actual cost. Any repairs are not included in this fee. Any fees required will be discussed prior to repairs. This fee would be waived in registered for Dealer-Managed Mobile Link, travel fee may still apply.
Liquid Cooled Diagnostic
$250+
Include travel fee to Diagnostic Fee for actual cost. Any repairs are not included in this fee. Any fees required will be discussed prior to repairs. This fee would be waived in registered for Dealer-Managed Mobile Link, travel fee may still apply.
Service A Liquid Cooled

Service B Liquid Cooled

Clean battery terminals and cables, apply anti-corrosion. Check battery. Test run the generator to check voltages produced. Check anti-freeze level and top off. Change anti-freeze if necessary. Return trip would be required to change anti-freeze. Check belts and replace if necessary, return trip would be required to replace belt.
